the potting shed hub

To all who are finding us for the first time, who already know us and have been our mentees, or are moving over from our previous Drop In online platform. We will soon be opening our new shed door.

We wonder what you might envisage when we invite you to join us. We each have a sense of what we imagine our own Potting Shed might look and feel like. It may be that we lose sight of the sense of what we would call a ‘safe space’ as life has waves of challenges that we bounce between in reactive states with no clear path in or out or through.

Here we have several images of our Potting Shed already, choosing to not stick inflexibly with one, and knowing that whatever we describe or show you, your own image will be different and be personal to you. Below we imagine for you a cosy potting shed with sunshine and wooden chairs for sitting in and simply ‘being’ together.

If we were to ask you what you imagine in your mind’s eye when we invite you in, would you easily find an image of a space that suggests safety and ease? Would you reply that you are not able to visualise but could describe using words? Would you have a sense of where it might be, but feel so far removed from it at this current moment in life that it is hard to imagine it at all? Maybe you are more of a ‘no shed at all’ kind of person like this…

Mindfulness is the scaffolding that we share with others in this space so that it is possible for us all to find the resilience that is already within us, to find the sense of ease in our own unique way.

A ‘potting shed’ might be a stone-built bothy in the foothills of the Scottish mountains where the wildflowers grow beneath mountainous peaks, and feeling of the wind on our face. Or maybe on another day it would be nestled in woodland with the sounds of birdsong all around, dreaming up a carpet of bluebells in this image. We may have memories of safety and love in both these settings.

We will be offering different levels of membership to our clients and, other offerings such as live and recorded video discussions and thoughtful rambles with some fascinating and inspirational mindfulness practitioners from around the globe, and receive our digital resources enabling you to support others in your life and line of work, and a discount on our mindfulness and resilience training.
